Trying Windows Live Writer

 For a long time I have not tried any Windows software. Today, while reading some posts on writing, I found a reference of Windows Live Writer. It is Microsoft’s product – and you can use it for blogging. You can have multiple blog accounts configured. Some features I liked are:

• Inserting hyperlink is easy. There is option for auto-linking some terms.
• inserting image is also quite easy. You can insert any image from your local disk, and post to blog. Your image will be uploaded automatically. I was looking for this feature for a long time.
• You can insert tables in your post, just like any other word processor.
• And obviously you can insert video. By default, Microsoft tried to promote its SoapBox video server. However, you can embed Google Video or YouTube video by providing the video URL.
• Another feature is insert map. You can search some place in map, and insert that in the post. Remember that you are not getting Google map, instead map from Microsoft Virtual Earth(tm) will be there.

I am trying it, and of course let you know whether it is worth keeping on my computer.
